ABOUT
Twenty 21 Books is an independent specialist bookseller dealing in rare books, catalogues and printed material relating to art and collecting. The collection has been developed with a particular interest in material that is scarce, overlooked or valuable for the information it contains, from significant art books and artists’ publications to historic auction catalogues and specialist reference works.
Our interests encompass British and European art, modern and contemporary art, design, ancient art and archaeology, Asian and Islamic art, ethnographic art, photography, artists’ books and provenance-related material. We look beyond individual titles to the connections between books, artists, collectors, dealers, exhibitions and collections, recognising that a specialist library can reveal information that is difficult to find elsewhere.

ABOUT
Research forms an important part of the business. Our holdings are used to help locate historical references, exhibition appearances, auction records, dealer associations and other evidence relevant to the study of artworks and collections. We also assist with specialist searches and, where permitted, provide digital scans or extracts from material held in the collection.
We are based in Bruton, Somerset, and work with collectors, researchers, dealers and institutions in the UK and internationally. Alongside selling individual publications, we actively acquire specialist libraries and collections, with an interest in preserving and making accessible material that might otherwise become dispersed or overlooked.
